The group show “Wild and Free” at the Gail Keenan Art Center, a part of Coast Episcopal School in Pass Christian, closes on this Friday, Sept 11th, reception from 4-6pm. Sharing this reel showing the development of 2100 Leon C. Simon over the past 5 years - The meadow / rain garden has been a source of joy for me and hopefully for others. It’s been a way to experience the seasons and their effects, a reminder that hot drought summers (that almost made me give it up, 2023?), eventually give way to wetter times and rejuvenation, and that plants have been around much longer than us and have a lot of tricks up their stems. Thank you to @nolamosquito, @civicstudio.coop @npigno and everyone who has helped with this act of collective effervescence, a collaboration between nature, people and the elements. And thanks to the plants. And the bugs and the birds. 59 species of biota are recorded on iNaturalist, visit our project there. Overall, the site is much more biodiverse than it was 5 yrs ago and has shared much beauty! FYI Meadow maintenance this Friday 5-7!
